Oakland County Forensic Camp 6/19-6/23 & 6/26-6/30, Birmingham Covington School - A week-longprogram designed for students to gain skills in performance and to work toward piece development for the next season. Program includes category overview, cutting, blocking, character development, speech writing, research, critique, delivery work, and more! Camp is for students grades 5-9. The EDGE Institute Forensic Camp 7/31-8/4, Notre Dame Preparatory Academy - A week-long intensive training program designed for students to gain skills in performance and to work toward piece development for the next season. Program includes: Cutting literature, writing introductions & developing performance intent; Speech writing, organization & research; Analysis & limited preparation delivery. MIFA Debate Camp - Various days & locations 8/16-8/23 - MIFA is offering various 1-day Public Forum Workshops for students and coaches of all experience levels. Read more here.
5.2.17 Council & Committee Nominations It is time to collect nominations for the various Council & Committee positions that will be open starting in July.
Council nominations must be self-nominations. Open Positions: 2 MIFA At-Large positions on the Forensic Council for the term running 7/1/2017 - 6/30/2019. Nominate here.
Committee positions can be self-nominated or individuals can be nominated by a coach/director in their region (for the appropriate region spot). Open Positions: 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 in addition to the following expiring appointments/vacatings: Debate (Regions 2 & 4), Individual Events (Region 2), Theatre (Region 6). Nominate here.

4.2.17 The "OLIE" Elimination Round Breaks This Spring Break, MIFA is hosting their first ever online I.E. Invitational. The tournament kicked off Monday, March 27. Check the elims postings by watching our "Spring Break(s) Video" 2.6.17 State Theater Festival series underway Regional competitions will be taking place across the state this weekend. Then the Top 14 shows in Main Stage and Studio Production advance to the State Festival at the Charlotte Center for the Performing Arts on Feb 17&18. More details here.
1.8.17 Varsity Debate State Finals Calvin College hosted Varsity Debate State Finals this past weekend. Hundreds of students from all over Michgan participated in Policy, Public Forum and Legistlative debate competition. Results here.
11.22.16 Novice Debate States & Original Interpretation Tournament Registration is now open for Novice Debate States AND for the Original Interpretation Tournament. Both events will take place at Dexter High School. Debate States is December 9-10 and OI is December 10. Novice Debate States will include divisions in Policy, Public Forum, and Legislative Debate. 10.19.16 Fall Middle Level State Tournament The Fall ML State Tournament is on November 19 at Charlotte High School. Registration is now open at ie.hirelesmana.com. Details, including the invitation, can be found under the Middle Level tab here! Registration closes Monday, November 14 at midnight!
