IE Regionals and State Finals Advancement
Changes to the advancement process for the 2024-2025 season will be announced/described here. Changes for the 2023-2024 season included: > Pre-bids are now automatically calculated/awarded. You do not need to apply. > Base advancement for Class BCD is now the same as Class A at 24 contestants in every event. #################################################### IE Regionals > MIFA will coordinate 4 Regional tournament sites in conjunction with local hosts as originally planned. > Schools can choose which tournament date/location they attend. Schools may divide their team and attend multiple locations/dates. > Schools are not limited in the number of entries per event. However students may only compete at one Regional tournament. > Tournament directors in conjunction with the Executive Director have broad latitude to set the format to facilitate the tournament including but not limited to: allowing contestants to be evaluated by judges from the same school, breaking section norms to create open sections where judges can be used, flighting the schedule to allow judges to judge more smaller sections, etc. > Advancement to States happens one of three ways: 1.Participation at Regionals. All Regional contestants are eligible to advance. 2. Receive a pre-bid 3. Or receive a special circumstance bid However they qualify, coaches may only advance 2 per category from each school to States.) |
