IE Judge Certification Process

IE New Judge Certifications Dates & Locations
​MIFA requires IE judges for regional and state tournaments to be certified.  
​Judges seeking certification for the 2022-23 Season must be at least (1) year out of high school and complete the following steps (in this order, ideally):

1. Please purchase IE Judge Initial Certification from the "Goods & Services" Tab ($30). ​Once purchased, you will receive downloadable instructions about how to proceed and access the next steps below. 
2. Attend an IE Initial Judge Certification Workshop. Dates are below and you can sign up once certification is purchased.
   1. Judges seeking certification are expected to utilize various online resources prior to attending the workshop. These are available after purchasing certification. 
3. ​Judge four rounds during this year's competitive IE invitational season. 
4. Fill out a judge information & four round verification form by April 9, 2023.

• 1/28/23 Virtual 10-3pm
• 2/18/23 @ MSU Invitational 9am-2pm - cancelled
• 3/4/23 @ Grand Rapids Christian Invitational 9am-2pm - cancelled due to low enrollment
• 3/12/23 VIRTUAL 10-3pm
• 3/19/23 VIRTUAL 1-6pm *Added in lieu of cancellations

IE Judge Re-Certification 
​MIFA requires IE certified judges to re-certify every three years. Re-certification can be completed online and includes the following steps (in this order, ideally):

1. Please purchase IE Judge Re-Certification from the "Goods & Ser​vices" Tab ($20). Once purchased, you will receive downloadable instructions about how to proceed and access the next steps below. 
2. Fill out a judge information update form 
3. Take online recertification test and score 100% sometime after January 1, 2023 but  prior to April 9, 2023.
