The Michigan Interscholastic Forensic Association organizes activities in Debate, Individual Events, Theatre, and Original Content. Debateinvolves an individual or a team of debaters working to convince a judge that his or her side of a resolution is more valid. MIFA sponsors several different types of debate: Congressional, Policy, Progressive and Public Forum. Learn more about DEBATE! Individual Events highlights a variety of public address and interpretation events. The events range from the performance of literature from various genres to the presentation of original speeches on academic subjects. Learn more about IE! Theatre activities include a One Act Play festival series of traveling shows in two events - Main Stage and Studio Productions. Works can be published or unpublished one-act plays, cuttings from longer plays, or originals. We also just introduced Short Play (10-15 minutes) as a collaborative event with META.
