- IE Rule Changes for 2020-21: This video covers even changes for the 2020-21 school year. These changes are a result of MIFA's COVID-19 guidelines for virtual competition. This should be watched BEFORE taking the multiple choice test.
- Hand Signals for IE Competition: This video covers the hand signals MIFA requests that judges use when necessary during online competitions. This can be watched before or after taking the multiple choice test.
- Performance videos: There are three performance videos (Sales, Storytelling, & Impromptu) that must be watched in conjunction with taking the online multiple choice test. Each video corresponds to a set of questions that focus on effective critique writing.
2020-21 Virtual Competitions - this content is optional but highly recommended
The 2020-21 season is virtual. Therefore, some events have been adapted in order to help make virtual competition possible. You watched 2 videos regarding this in the above video section. All judges seeking certification and planning to judge for the 2020-21 season should read the "best practices for online IE competition." In addition, you may attend an virtual judging training webinar or watch the recorded one offered here.

Recertification Test (required)
This test is meant to make sure you are updated on rule changes, speech activities in general, and all judge and tournament procedures.
In order to become certified, you must score 90% or above. There are three short answer questions. These are not part of your overall score and are evaluated separately. You will only hear from MIFA staff regarding these if there is a problem.
Below are a series of materials that may be helpful during this portion. Remember, all of the questions are based on either tournament procedure or language written in Speech Activities or the event ballots.
