BEAST Impromptu Tournament Material for B6
On the next screen you will receive three choices for your impromptu video. Make sure your camera is ready to record and that you are in a space suitable for recording your speech.
After you select the prompt you wish to use for your video you will be taken to another screen. That screen will have the prompt re-stated and also will have a video that you can use for time cards if you want to.
Once you navigate to the screen after selecting your prompt, You should turn on your camera and record all of the following in one take:
We know you are used to reading the prompt off of paper, however, for purposes of this tournament, you will be reading it off of the screen. You may want to take an extra few seconds to copy it down onto your note card as you will not have a printed copy.
If you choose to use the video as time cards, you will keep the video playing and be able to see the screen while you are speaking. That is how you will know how much time is left. Once you finish, stop your recording device. If you do not wish to use this video as time cards, just stop the video once you see the prompt.
The time cards shown are as follows:
Prep time: 15 seconds elapsed, 30 seconds elapsed, 45 seconds elapsed, 1 minute elapsed
Speaking Time will then begin. At this point the time cards will switch to counting down, 3 minutes remaining, 2 minutes remaining, 1 minute remaining, 30 seconds remaining, 15 seconds remaining, and then a 10 second countdown.
