Jon Becker, Executive Director
Jon has been involved with MIFA in one way or another since 1988 - as a debater, actor, judge, coach, committee member, consultant, development director and treasurer.
Becca Weissman, Business Manager
Becca has coached both middle and high school forensics for 19 years.  Currently she is co-director of forensics at Detroit Country Day School. 
                                                                            Courtney Bassett, Membership Coordinator
                                                                            Courtney has been involved in Speech Activities as a competitor, coach, or judge for 17 years! Currently she coaches Debate and Forensics at Birmingham Covington School and Seaholm High School.

  • Studio Theatre: MIFA is excited to announce a new Studio Theatre Division. Studio Theatre, unlike Main Stage, is a show relying heavily on the actors and the script and making little to no use of extensive technical aspects of a show.   • Middle Level Public Forum: MIFA is dedicated to growing Debate at the Middle Level. This year, MIFA will offer Middle Level entry into Public Forum. We are hoping that the by running this alongside the existing high school event, High School Public Forum will help Middle Level Public Forum grow and develop! Debate page HERE

Resolved: The United States Federal Government ought to pay reparations to African Americans.

MIFA will use this resolution for TWO months (Sept & Oct) for Public Forum Debate. MIFA follows the voting and resolutions used by The National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA). The November/December resolution will be NSDA's November resolution. Varsity PF Debate will use NSDA's December resolution for States in January.
