MIFA sponsors the largest *theatre* festival in Michigan. Secondary schools participate in a tri-level theatre series that highlights traveling shows. A maximum of seven schools participate per site, which gives participants the opportunity to present their productions and see a variety of other shows. Themes alternate annually between humorous and serious. For 2012-2013, the theme is humorous. The constraints of a 45-minute traveling production focus the evaluation of each show on its acting and special technique considerations. MIFA recognizes outstanding productions in three school classifications at the State Final Festival.   SPEECH ACTIVITIES for all MIFA events can be found under the "About Us" tab. That is what serves as a rule book for the activity.   The Theatre community selects a teacher of the year annually. The form for nomination should be submitted to your Regional Theatre Representative before the end of January. The form can be downloaded below.
