Forensic Council has approved two changes in IE events beginning in 2011-2012.
 
Storytelling will no longer be on a rotating basis for appropriate material. The new rule reads: "Storytelling is the delivery of a humorous or serious single selection, or a compilation of humorous or serious material. Any material for children will be accepted, including contemporary literature, myths, legends, fairytales and folktales. Acceptable selections for storytelling must come from children's literature for any age."
 
Multiple is moving to alternate years for different genres.  The new rule reads: "Multiple material must alternate on an annual basis. For 2011-12 multiple may be of any genre, excluding musical theater/musical film. For 2012-2013 multiple may consist of any genre including musical theater/musical film."
